Noun A legal document issued by the National Archives of Australia to authorize the disposal of Commonwealth records. It specifies classes of records and the minimum length of time they should be kept. Records disposal authorities (RDAs) apply to the records of a single organization while general disposal authorities (GDAs), such as the Administrative Functions Disposal Authority (AFDA), normally apply to all Commonwealth agencies.
