Configurable Item umask (abbreviated from user mask) is a command that sets the file mode creation mask of the current process. umask for ftp sets the file creation mask for a user transferring files with ftp. The default umask is 777 which means all permissions for everyone (not normally a good thing). (used 0 times in citations and controls)
